Venue Information

The Third World Technology Universities Congress (WTUC3) is taking place in Chennai, India and will be hosted at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science.

IIT Madras is a residential campus situated amidst 650 acres forest, located in the city of Chennai, which is also the state capital of Tamilnadu, a southern state in India. Chennai is the fourth largest city in India and comparatively a new city, about 350 years old (1639). The city was formerly known as Madras and was renamed Chennai, which evolved from old name ‘Chennapatnam’. Chennai is a coastal city with the second largest beach in the world known as ‘Marina’ beach.

IIT Madras will be the venue for the Congress on 29 November 2018.

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science will be host to the meetings on Friday 30 November. It’s campus is situated in the south eastern suburb of Chennai, Padur. The institute is on the main arterial road Rajiv Gandhi IT Highway (also called Old Mahabalipuram Road).

Transport will be arranged to transfer delegates from local hotels to the venues each day.
