The 2020 Congress

Each year WTUN hold an annual conference, the World Technology Universities Congress (WTUC) giving our members and other interested parties a chance to get together and discuss current topics in HE and what we can do as a collection of Technology Universities to address these.

Although we usually host at one of our member institutions, this year we are taking WTUC 2020 virtual to give as many people as possible the chance to take part.

Everyone is welcome, including but not limited to, staff and students from our member institutions, colleagues from business and industry, representatives from local & national government and NGOs and anyone interested in international Higher Education.

As a network of technology universities this year we will be discussing the following themes:

+ Science, Industry and Research
+ Internationalisation, Higher Education Institutes and Working Together
+ The UN Sustainable Development Goals, Social Responsibility and our Impact on the World

In particular this year we are looking to attract PhD students and Early Career Researchers to our session “Tips, Advice and Resources for Early Career Researchers”, academic and professional services staff to share best practice in “International Virtual Learning in 2020” and those interested in Equality and Diversity to “Diversifying our universities: Why it is important and what can we do about it”.

Sessions will take place over live events and interactive meetings with opportunities for all delegates to ask questions and get involved. Everything will be hosted on MS Teams.

The WTUC 2020 will take place online on 13 – 15 October 2020.

The times and dates of the sessions are

  • Tuesday 13th October: 16:00 – 20:00
  • Wednesday 14th October: 11:00 – 15:00
  • Thursday 15th October: 08:00 – 12:00
