Delegates are invited to join us for a final cultural excursion of their choosing after the formal closing of WTUC2023

1. Erfurt – experience the fascination of a historic city (City Tour) 
 
City tour of medieval city of Erfurt:  Discover the Merchants’ Bridge, the impressive ensemble of the Cathedral of St. Mary and the Church of St. Severus, the Augustinian Monastery, the Old Synagogue with the Erfurt Treasure, the egapark and much more besides.  
 
One of the city’s attractions is the Krämerbrücke (Merchant’s) Bridge. It crosses the river Gera at a height of 120 m and is built with 32 houses – making it one of the longest completely built and inhabited bridges in Europe. 
 
– 25 PAX (two parallel tours can be arrange for a maximum 50 pax) 
 
2. From the medieval city up to the crown of Erfurt (with Fortress Petersberg and listening passages). 
 
Discover Erfurt’s romantic old town. Along the Via Regia you will via the Krämerbrücke and Michaelisstraße to the Old University and the Old Synagogue to the Fish Market. You will arrive at the Domplatz with the monumental ensemble of Cathedral of St. Mary and the Church of St. Severus at the foot of the Petersberg Citadel. Via the barrier-free Panoramaweg walk to the lift which takes you up to the plateau of the fortress. 
 
Discover the Romanesque St. Peter’s Church, walk through the through the Poterne into the moat and end the tour with a guided tour in the listening passages. 
 
This tour is not suitable for people with limited mobility. We recommend good shoes and warm clothing. The temperature in Petersberg Fortress is around 10°C to 15°C all year round. (MAX 20 Persons)
