TU Ilmenau Campus Visits

Monday 9 October 2023
14:15 – 17:00
TU Ilmenau Campus

GROUP VISITS TO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Thuringian Center of Innovation in Mobility (ThIMo)

The Thüringer Innovatonszentrum Mobilität (ThIMo) supports the industrial change towards a sustainable mobility. We offer scientific expertise and infrastructure for joint research projects with industry partners, development or contractual research and services.
Within their key competences, ThIMo scientists together with partners from the TU Ilmenau and other facilities devise solutions being highly relevant for practical applications.

  • Center for Energy Technology (ZET)

The center was founded together with the Thuringian Energy Research Institute (ThEFI) formerly Institute for Energy, Drive and Environmental Systems Technology (IEAU) in June 2009 at TU Ilmenau.
As a central technological facility with its own staff, it is one of the university’s operating units. As a cross-faculty institution, the ZET has the task of organizing, implementing and managing scientific services and contract research. The Thuringian Energy Research Institute (ThEFI) is in charge of the scientific objectives.
In addition to the ThEFI, all departments of the TU Ilmenau can cooperate in the ZET; furthermore, services can be offered to third parties.

  • Center of Micro- and Nanotechnologies (ZMN)

As a technology platform of the Institute of Micro- and Nanotechnologies it forms the basis for both basic and applied research in the field of micro- and nanotechnologies as well as material sciences. In two high-tech buildings, the ZMN has 1.800 m² of laboratory space, including 1,200 m² of clean room space with highly specialized facilities and equipment. There are special laboratories, for example for working with biological samples (safety level S1), the analytical laboratories or laboratories for high-precision measurement technology, which allows accuracies in the nanometer range.

  • Ilmenau Immersive Interactive Technology Center (I3TC)

The Ilmenau Interactive Immersive Technologies Center (I3TC) serves as an infrastructure unit of the TU Ilmenau for the holistic research of technologies and applications of immersive media as well as their use and evaluation. In particular, such approaches and systems are considered that are based as much as possible on reality. This includes both Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) as well as spatial audio and immersive video formats
