Sustainability is the key driver of our future development, especially when it comes to energy utilisation and consumption as natural resources are becoming increasingly scarce or more expensive. With recent developments like cuts in global supply chains or the effect of AI on energy consumption, how can renewable energies be part of the solution?
Technology universities are uniquely positioned to contribute through research, innovation, education, campus operations, and global partnerships. Universities have a critical role in generating knowledge, preparing future leaders, demonstrating sustainable practices, and collaborating across sectors and nations.
This session will explore how technology universities are contributing to renewable energy transitions through interdisciplinary research, educational programmes, institutional leadership, and external partnerships. Through short impulse talks and interactive World Café style discussions, participants will share experiences, identify common challenges and explore opportunities for future WTUN collaboration.
