Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornapit Darasawang

Associate Professor Dr. Pornapit Darasawang is Vice President for Internationalisation, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) in Thailand. She obtained her B.A. in English from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand; M.Ed. in Reading from Towson State University, USA; M.A in TESOL from the Moray House Institute of Education, Heriott-Watt University, UK and Ph. D in TESOL from the University of Edinburgh.

As Vice President for Internationalisation, one of her major goals is to develop KMUTT’s students’ intercultural competence and English language proficiency through providing international experience abroad and making use of internationalisation at home from international students who study at KMUTT. Her areas of interest are learner autonomy, learner training, and motivation in language learning. Therefore, she has been teaching in PhD in Applied Linguistics. Courses taught include Theories in Language Learning, Research in Autonomy in Language Learning. MA in Applied Linguistics. Courses taught include: Language Learning Theory, The Establishing and Management of English Language Learning Resource Centres, Individualisation in Language Learning, Research Methods. And supervising MA dissertations and PhD theses. Moreover, she has been involved in teacher training and has given lectures and workshops in the area of self-access learning and qualitative research.

Mr Wan Choy Chee

Mr Chee Wan Choy is pursuing PHD in Chemical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Currently, he is in the 4th semesters of his study and focusing on the organic wastes resource optimization studies related to Pinch Analysis.

Ms Ana Jara Gonzalez

Ana’s role as an Engagement Officer is to play a pivotal role in public engagement through a programme of events. Ana designs, develops and delivers the University Public Lectures and the Annual High Profile Lectures Series.

She supports the University’s civic engagement, ensuring the University contributes to city initiatives where appropriate.

Ana also project manages the Graduation Ceremonies (UK and International), working closely with other University departments and members of staff.

Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Ariffin Abu Hasan

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Ariffin bin Abu Hassan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from UMIST, the United Kingdom in 2004. Presently, he is the Director of UTM International, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia of which through this appointment, he has been selected for other significant posts. Dr. Mohd Ariffin is the first Erasmus+ National Focal Point (ENFP) for Malaysia and he has recently been appointed as an Advisory Council Member of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE). He is also the Executive Director and Chair of Steering Committee of Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) and Operational Board Members for World Technology Universities Network (WTUN)..

Professor Dr Abd Latif Saleh

Abd Latif Saleh is the Pro-Vice Canceler of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur campus. Before he was Assistant Dean (Quality and Strategy), Faculty of Engineering, Director of Work, Office of Asset and Development and other administration work at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He received his Ph.D in Civil Engineering from University of Portmouth, United Kingdom, Master Degree (Structure) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from Thames Polytechnic, United Kingdom. His research interest is more on Construction Management, Structural Analysis and Design and Numerical Analysis especially on Building Information Modelling. He has published more than 85 papers in international and national journals. He is member of Board of Engineer Malaysia and Malaysia Board of Technologists.

Mr Muhammad Imran Ismail

Muhammad Imran is a PhD student at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia, working on optimization of solar thermal technology for energy resource conservation. He received a degree in Engineering (Chemical) from UTM in 2007 and an M.Sc. in Engineering in Chemical and Biochemical from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark, in 2013. Previously, he worked as a process engineer in the palm oil refining industry. His research interests consist of sustainable process design, solar thermal and green energy. He has been awarded as a Professional Technologist (Green Energy) from the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) in 2020.

Mr Mudassar Yasin

Mudassar Yasin is the the Founder of Hump Group which was established in 2015 as a community orientated business which aims to focus on the well-being of the global community and connecting bridges. Hump Group specialises in coffee beans, camel milk products and Palestinian Medjool dates. Mudassar has prior experience of working for the UK Civil Service and currently consults for a leading medical devices company specialising in the area of hydrogel. He is a graduate from the University of Bradford with a major in International Business & Management with a focus in FDI (Foreign Direct Investment). He has a vast skill set ranging from business development to public (international) relations and is always seeking opportunities to connect with communities and like-minded organisations/individuals. Mudassar also volunteers for two charities, one which supports individuals with special needs and the other which supports individuals with cancer.
