Assistant Professor
Shibaura Institute of Technology

Alicja Klimkowicz is an assistant professor at the Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) and a Project Researcher at Kanagawa University, Japan. She holds a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from SIT and AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland. Alicja specializes in Materials for Energy, especially ionic-conducting materials such as oxygen storage materials.

She recently published in Acta Materialia, Nanomaterials, Journal of Materials Science, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, among others. She obtained research funding from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science to study oxygen production and storage using ceramic materials. She worked on several projects funded by the National Science Centre in Poland devoted to ionic conductors, oxygen storage materials, fuel cells, and batteries. Alicja also worked on the hydrogen storage materials such as metal alloys and quasicrystals as a part of the Materials Science Laboratory in SIT. She contributed to the educational exchange between Japan and Poland and established a joined degree graduate program called Energy and Environmental Engineering that will launch in spring 2022.
