Dr Farhana Diana Deris
Dr Farhana Diana Deris is a Senior Lecturer at Language Academy, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She is also a member of staff at UTM International, holding the portfolio as Manager of International Alliances. Previously, she was the Head of Microsite Management for MyLinE, the national English language learning portal. She teaches several courses for the university TESL undergraduate degree programme (Computer Assisted Language Learning, Language Games in the Classroom, and Academic Skills for Teachers of ESL) and English language proficiency programmes (Academic English Skills, Advanced Academic Skills, and English for Professional Purposes). Her administrative role covers, among others, the coordination of university’s participation in alliances. Her research interests include technology enhanced teaching and learning for engaging 21 st century English language learners, and building and sustaining partnerships through new media communication in the context of HEI internationalisation. She holds executive roles for a number of alliances including as Coordinator for the Asia Technological University Network, Assistant Secretary for the ASEAN Learning Network, and being the university’s Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator.
