Dr. Maha Kobeil, who is from Sudan, is the Dean and CEO of Majan University College, the first private higher education institution to be established in Oman and the first institution in Oman to be fully nationally accredited. Dr Kobeil was the first Arab female head of a private higher education institution in Oman.

Dr Kobeil received her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Manchester; an MA in Applied Linguistics (Discourse Studies in Language Teaching and Learning) from the University of Liverpool; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Manchester. She has extensive experience in the areas of Applied linguistics, ELT, educational quality assurance, change management and innovation, and organisational leadership and development. Her expertise and interests extend to women in leadership and higher education.

For more than two decades, Dr. Kobeil has been actively involved in quality assurance and enhancement, academic standards, and accreditation activities as well as continuous professional development. She continues to play a leading role in championing and supporting the growth and development of higher education.
