Dr Nigel Trodd is Associate Head for Global Engagement in the School of Energy, Construction and Environment, Coventry University. Before he was Principal Lecturer in GIS and Earth Observation by Remote Sensing. He has led numerous curriculum developments, including the world’s first BSc GIS, the worlds first MSc GIS by distance learning and was inaugural General Secretary of UNIGIS International, a consortium of 16 universities in 13 countries on 4 continents. His research has focused on environmental change by EO, including the Kalahari drylands of Botswana, heathlands of UK, and coastal wetlands of China and Saudi Arabia. He has also led projects on smart cities and urban change and supervised 12 PhD students.
