Professor Anne Graham
Professor Anne Graham is the Associate Dean of Research & Knowledge Transfer in the Faculty of Life Sciences. She has been an academic at Bradford since 1996 and teaches biochemistry on the Biomedical Sciences undergraduate and Masters programmes. She has supervised 16 PhD students in the research field of mechanisms responsible for cardiovascular disease, focused on the function of endothelial cells lining the blood vessels and their role in chronic inflammation. Her latest work has concentrated on mechanisms responsible for development of cardiovascular complications of diabetes. In addition to the laboratory work, she is interested in strategies for patient interventions to improve glucose control in diabetes and has supervised pharmacists who have successfully delivered improvements in long term blood glucose control by increasing education and promoting patient self care. She has published over 30 publications and is a grant panel reviewer for RCUK. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science and the Higher Education Academy.
