Professor Prathivadi Anand is Head of the Department of Peace Studies and International Development and Professor of Public Policy and Sustainable Development at the University of Bradford. He has won many awards for his teaching and student support and for his work on social impact working with the Chevening scholars and for his work with students on sustainability. Professor Anand has served previously three terms o the University of Bradford senate and one term on the University Council. Presently, he is the Chair of the University Assembly. He works collaboratively with colleagues from the Bradford and Calderdale Councils. He is Vice Chair of Calderdale Interfaith Council. He has been a Fellow of the Human Development and Capability Association, the Institute for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability and a Council member of the British Association for South Asian Studies. With Dr Shailaja Fennell and Dr Flavio Comim, he has co-edited the Handbook of BRICS and Emerging Economies (Oxford University Press) and The New Frontiers of the Capability Approach (Cambridge University Press). He has been collaborating with Prof Eko Puronomo at Universitas Mohammadiya Yogyakarta and with Julio Navio Marko (UNED, Spain), Prof Sudhir Chellarajan (IITM), and Prof R Sudarshan (JGU). Professor Anand co-ordinates Chevening Scholars at Bradford and has been leading the executive education programme for the African Development Bank.
