Hackathon Check-Ins and Live sessions

The Hackathon event has a number of sessions that run parallel to your team working.

Live Lectures and Mentoring Sessions
These sessions include academic experts across all topics in the hackathon who will be on hand to educate, support and advise students. These are outlined in the Programme.

You should aim to send at least 1 member of your team to each of these sessions to ask questions and get advice on your project. In order to do this, the selected team member(s) will need to select the “Return to Main Room” option in their breakout room. Once the lecture is finished or you have discussed your project with the mentors, you will be able to return to your group’s breakout room.

Remember there are points available for attending the lectures and mentoring sessions and asking questions to the academics.

Check-In Sessions
There are a number of slots across the two days where you need to check-in with event facilitators to give them an update on your progress as a team. This means that at least 1 team member needs to be available for each of these check-in times. These times are highlighted in the Programme.
In each check-in time, either (1) a facilitator will come into your breakout room to receive an update or (2) you will have to send 1 team member to the main room to give an update. You will receive a message from the main room at the start of the hour letting you know which option will be used.

Remember the event all takes place on Zoom and your team has received all the links via email to access the event.
