Overview of the University

Ahlia University (Ahlia), based in the Kingdom of Bahrain, was the first private University to be licensed by the Government of Bahrain, and amongst the first private Bahraini universities to be recognized by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Higher Education. Ahlia pride themselves on the high quality of the education they deliver and believe that science, humanities, business and education have a meaningful place in the building and advancement of our society. Ahlia is autonomous, independently chartered, and funded and managed by the private sector.

Ahlia provides its students, both throughout the Gulf and internationally, the opportunity to study in a productive and challenging institution, and to receive a technologically sophisticated and distinctive liberal arts education. Ahlia aspires to be a driver for economic and social transformation and does so by fostering knowledge discovery and dissemination for the benefit of the community.

RESEARCH FOCUSES 

Ahlia considers research the prime mover for knowledge acquisition and dissemination.  Their Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research is dedicated to harnessing a dynamic and inclusive research environment which supports graduate learners and faculty members. The deanship focusses on cutting-edge research projects, undertaken in an environment that values intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and scholarly rigor.

Ahlia has international partners across the globe, and formal cooperation agreements with Brunel University London (United Kingdom), EPITECH, The Paris Graduate School of Digital Innovation, IÉSEG School of Management, and EPITA (France).
