Conference Venue and Accommodation information:
We would like to enhance the attendance at our annual Congress, and to facilitate this, we offer free attendance, covering all fees at the Congress, including accommodation and ground transport for two* representatives per institution. We encourage you to bring other academics and staff to contribute and enjoy the Congress. Please note that there is no fee for WTUN members to attend the Congress; however, the travelling and accommodation costs of additional delegates will be the responsibility of the member’s institution.
We would, of course, be very happy if you also wish to bring other academics and staff, to contribute and enjoy the Congress. There is no fee for WTUN members to attend the Congress however travel costs and additional delegate accommodation are at the responsibility of the member institution.

Whilst in Johor Bahru, delegates will stay at Amari Johor Bahru which is a 5 minute walk from the conference venue, Persada Convention Centre, Johor Bahru
Accommodation costs: The cost of rooms at Amari Johor Bahru approx £70 (GBP) per person per night.
*The hotel will also charge a £10 GBP for international tourism tax

Dates: 4 – 5 October 2024
Whilst on Tioman Island, delegates will stay Paya Beach Spa and Dive Resort located just few minutes walk from the ferry jetty.
Island visit costs: Full package will cost approx £117.51 (GPB) per person and includes a return ferry ticket, accommodation, and meals.

Getting to Johor Bahru
Delegates to make their own arrangements for travel between their port of arrival and Johor Bahru.
For International/Long Haul Arrivals:
Kuala Lumpur International Airport
KLIA —> Senai, Johor Bahru —> Amari Hotel
From KLIA, please make your way to Johor Bahru by connecting flight to Senai International Airport or by public transportation. See here to book your bus ticket:

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia will set up a WTUC2024 Help Desk at the lobby area of the hotel for registration and other coordination. UTM and WTUN Secretariat staff will be available to welcome you on arrival.
Post Congress (end of Programme)
Departing Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)
For those departing KLIA, onward travel from Mersing Jetty will be provided by hosts UTM.
- Pulau Tioman to Mersing Jetty – 2 hour transfer time
- Mersing Jetty to Kuala Lumpur International Airport – 6 hour transfer times
Please consider the flight schedule at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) from 22:00 MYT onwards.
Departing Singapore Changi Airport
If sufficient number of delegates indicate that they will return to Singapore Changi Airport, another direct charter to Johor Bahru CIQ may be available.
Pulau Tioman to Mersing Jetty – 2 hours
Mersing Jetty to Johor Bahru – 2 hours
Johor Bahru to Changi Airport – 4 hours (due to congestion at immigration)
Suggestion:
We will only provide transportation to JB CIQ, delegates are required to find another means of transportation to Singapore Changi Airport (e.g. upon arrival in Singapore).
Please consider the flight from Singapore Changi Airport from 22:00 MYT onwards.
*Increased from one at the request of host UTM. This additional cost will be covered at no additional cost to the WTUN.
