Hope Whisky is currently a postgraduate student in University of Bradford studying M.Sc Analytical Sciences. She was a principal Chemist in Scientific Laboratory services Ltd since 2014 and also a member of Institute of public Analysts of Nigeria, (IPAN). She holds a B.Sc certificate in Industrial Chemistry from Delta State University, Nigeria. She had attended several trainings which are: ISO 17025:2017. Laboratory Quality Management Systems, the COSHH Risk Assessor Certification, HSE, Quality assurance and control. She was part of project committee at NYSC Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency( NDLEA) and also led some teams on Accelerated Shelf Life study of food products for several food industries.

Hi, my name is Fadi, from Yemen. I’m currently an on-campus student in Orkney, studying towards an MSc in Renewable Energy Development. I have 12 years experience in the oil and gas industry, in which I worked in different roles, such as; Technical Sales Engineer, Supply Chain Specialist and most prominently as a Drilling Engineer. I also co-founded ‘Innovative Yemen’, a local NGO and worked in recent years as a Project Manager, Livelihoods and Resilience Project, for the World Food Program. I am interested in the application of micro-grids in rural areas and look forward to apply what I will learn during my postgraduate degree to help those who are most vulnerable to climatic and economic shocks.

Dr David Kelly is Assistant Professor of Architectural Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. His research interests include the monitoring and prevention of cross-contamination from building drainage systems, the impact assessment of climate change on rainwater systems, the use of green infrastructure and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) for stormwater management, and the promotion and analysis of water efficiency measures within buildings.

Dr. John Bartlett is Head of Research at the Institute of Technology, Sligo, responsible for developing a research culture based on scholarship, multi-disciplinarity and collaboration, including the development of policy, strategy, administrative systems, quality assurance, budgets, capital infrastructure and project initiatives with internal and external stakeholders/agencies.

Dr. Bartlett was founding Director of the Centre for Sustainability and founder of the Contract Research Unit at IT, Sligo. An environmental scientist, his work has included ecotoxicology, environmental impact assessment, waste management technology, renewable energy technology, public access to environmental information, decision making and justice, and public services innovation. He has been Principal Investigator on a number of large scale research programmes funded by HEA (PRTLI), EPA, EU (INTERREG), and other agencies.

Current research includes support for businesses working in the area of renewable energy and sustainable building technologies, public service systems innovation in the health and environmental areas, and building research capacity in companies in the renewable energy area. He has worked with a number of agencies to contribute to regional and national policy development in Ireland in the areas of sustainability, public services and health innovation.

Mark Kelly is Head of Centre for Sustainability in the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. He is also programme coordinator for the M.Sc. in Circular Economy Leadership for the Built Environment. He has over 20 years research experience focusing on construction and demolition waste management, resource efficiency, the circular economy, building information management, education for sustainability and behaviour change.

Cáit Noone is Vice President International Engagement and Head of Galway International Hotel – Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, Ireland. Cáit is an internationally experienced educator and has worked in higher education since 1995. Prior to returning to Ireland Cáit was the Dean of the first International Hotel Management School in China – Les Roches Jin Jiang International, a joint venture collaboration between Laureate Education and the Chinese government organisation Jin Jiang. Cáit has also worked in Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Cáit is member of the Irish Hospitality Institute (IHI) and was admitted to the College of Fellows in November 2017. Cáit serves on several regional and national committees including the Galway European Capital of Culture Steering Committee, Galway European Region of Gastronomy Executive and the Careers Oversight Group for the Hospitality and Tourism industry. Cáit is also an expert panel member of IGCAT – Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism in Spain. She was awarded the Mike Butt Award in 2013 by the Restaurant Association of Ireland for services to the tourism industry. Cáit holds a BA (hons) in Education, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). She has successfully completed the Cornell University’s (USA) International programme “Executive Women in Leadership”
