Professor Bruno Motta de Carvalho

Professor Bruno M. Carvalho is the Deputy International Relations Officer of the UFRN. Bruno has obtained his BSc., MSc. and PhD degrees in Computer Science, in the areas of Image Processing and Computer Vision. He has been working on applications that employ methods from Image Processing, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence on several fields, but mainly on biomedical and geophysics problems. Bruno is currently working towards providing UFRN’s undergraduate and graduate students with a wide array of opportunities for international collaboration.

Dr Yvonne Yeh

Dr. Ying-Jung Yvonne Yeh is the Vice President for International Affairs at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech) and a tenured professor in the Department of Business Administration. She has been in charge of international MBA program for years before taking the position at Office of International Affairs. She also served as a deputy secretary general of Taiwan Academy of Management, and was a member of the reviewing committee for promoting outstanding small and medium enterprises. Her research interests include employee quality of working life, performance management, and the application of technology on work and employee training. As a professor in human resource management, she is dedicated in promoting students’ career opportunities, including global mobilities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr

Dr. Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr has held various leadership roles at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), most notably as Vice President for Student and Learner Development. He has implemented the KSD360 policy, which promotes a comprehensive approach to student development by integrating academic learning with extracurricular activities, community service, and personal development workshops.

In alignment with KMUTT’s commitment to sustainable development and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, Dr. Chaowalit has launched programs that encourage innovative thinking about sustainability. These initiatives empower students to create viable business solutions for environmental and social challenges. Dr. Chaowalit is also recognized for his research in aluminum, particularly his work on alloy development. His contributions have significantly advanced the understanding and application of aluminum processing, further enhancing the academic rigor at KMUTT.

His dedication ensures that KMUTT students receive a holistic education, preparing them for global challenges. He fosters an environment of academic excellence, personal growth, sustainability, and entrepreneurial readiness. His vision equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a dynamic and challenging world.

Prof. Dr. Sven Quadflieg

Prof. Dr. Sven Quadflieg, an expert in communication design and visual communication, studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts and the Zurich University of the Arts and received his doctorate at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts.

After working as art director at BOROS Kommunikation, he founded his own design studio in 2011 and worked for well-known institutions such as the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and the Berlin State Museums. His award-winning work has been published internationally.

Since March 2019 he has been a professor for “Fundamentals of Design” at the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences on the Lippstadt campus. There he took up the position of Vice President for University Culture and Diversity on August 1, 2024.

In his research he focuses primarily on political design and the tension between design and society. The designer is the author and co-editor of various publications and a member of the German Society for Design Theory and Research and the International Gender Design Network.

Prof. Dr. Justin Lange

Prof. Dr. Justin Sebastian Lange, an expert in product development in the fields of orthopedics, rehabilitation technology, medical aids and sports equipment, has been Professor of “Ergonomics and Biomechanics” at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences since July 1, 2019. He took up the position of Vice President for Studies and Teaching on August 1, 2024.

He previously worked as Head of Bauerfeind Innovationscentrum GmbH and Head of Research and Development at Bauerfeind AG, a manufacturer of bandages, orthoses and other medical products. Here he assumed responsibility and strategic management of the company’s entire development and innovation management.

Prof. Lange studied “Sports Science and Sports Equipment Technology” at Chemnitz University of Technology. He received his doctorate there on the “Influence of excessive body weight and reduced cutaneous sensory perception in the foot on plantar stress when walking”. As a research assistant, he supported research projects on the evaluation and optimization of football and running shoes, among other things.

Dr Maha Kobeil

Dr. Maha Kobeil is a recognised leader in higher education, with a distinguished career dedicated to advancing academic excellence, institutional accreditation, and sector-wide quality enhancement. As Dean and CEO of Majan University College (MUC) — Oman’s first private higher education institution and the first to achieve full national accreditation — she has been instrumental in shaping the landscape of private higher education in the Sultanate.

Over more than two decades, Dr. Kobeil has led transformative initiatives in quality assurance, academic standards, and international accreditation. Under her leadership, MUC has strengthened its role as a pioneering institution aligned with Oman Vision 2040, driving entrepreneurship, sustainability, and innovation while fostering a strong culture of student-centred learning.

Her leadership influence extends well beyond MUC. She actively contributes to national policy discussions and higher education forums, where her expertise in accreditation and governance has helped set benchmarks for quality and institutional effectiveness across the sector. Her achievements have been recognised internationally, including her ranking among the Top 100 CEOs in the GCC by Trends magazine in 2015.

Dr. Kobeil holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Manchester, an MA in Applied Linguistics (Discourse Studies in Language Teaching and Learning) from the University of Liverpool, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Manchester.

With her unique combination of academic expertise and visionary leadership, Dr. Kobeil continues to champion excellence in higher education, advancing accreditation standards, and building institutions that empower learners and contribute to national development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chawin Chantharasenawong

Chawin Chantharasenawong is now currently holds a position of Vice President for Internationalization of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thnoburi. He is an experienced researcher and academician with over a decade of experience in the field of engineering. He holds a PhD in Aeronautics from the Imperial College London and has since contributed in the field of wind energy, Formula Student racecar and, most recently, remote education technology.

Together with his co-researchers, his team has published over 20 research articles in leading engineering journals and presented his work at numerous international conferences. Chawin has held several administration positions, including Associate Dean for International Affairs at Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. He is currently the Board of Trustees Chairman at Concordian International School and Deputy Manager for International Affairs for the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation. Chawin’s areas of expertise include nonlinear dynamical systems, multiphysics simulations, and optimization techniques.

Apart from his technical skills, Chawin is known for his excellent communication and leadership abilities. He has mentored several graduate students and, through his professional experience, networked with many high-level government organisations in the education sector.

As of the 01 August 2025, Dr Chantharasenawong is the WTUN Operational Board Chair.

Dr Khwanchit Suwannoppharat

Dr. Khwanchit Suwannoppharat is the Assistant President for International Affairs, Thaksin University, Thailand. She has 16-year teaching experience in tertiary level. She finished her Ph.D. in English as an International Language (EIL) from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand in 2015 and Master of Education in TESOL from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2008. Her areas of expertise include curriculum design, English as a foreign language learning and teaching, Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and language assessment and evaluation. Her current interests are on community-based learning and CLIL and social development for sustainable development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samak Kaewsuksaeng

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samak Kaewsuksaeng is the Vice President for Research and Innovation of Thaksin University, Thailand. He is an expert in post-harvest technology. He was a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Agriculture, Yamaguchi University, Japan and many esteemed universities in Korea, and USA. Furthermore, he was granted for training course on “the Postharvest Physiology, Pathology and Handling of Fresh Commodities” Agricultural Research Organization (ARO), Israel. He has 14 years teaching experiences and has published numerous research papers in national and international publications.
