Professor Heather McGregor

Professor Heather McGregor, CBE Executive Dean Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Heather J. McGregor is the Executive Dean of the Edinburgh Business School, the graduate school of business of Heriot Watt University in the U.K. Professor McGregor is the principal shareholder and non-executive chairman of the executive search firm Taylor Bennett and the founder of the Taylor Bennett Foundation, which works to promote diversity in the communications industry. In addition, Professor McGregor is a non-executive director of two public companies. Professor McGregor has a Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong in Structured Finance and is an experienced writer and broadcaster, including writing for the Financial Times for 17 years. She is also the founder of the Taylor Bennett Foundation, which works to promote diversity in the communications industry, and a founding member of the steering committee of the 30% Club, which is working to raise the representation of women at senior levels within the U.K.’s publicly listed companies. In June 2015, Professor McGregor was made a Commander of the British Empire for her services to diversity and employment. In February 2017, she was appointed by the U.K. Government to be a member of the Honours Committee for the Economy.

Dr Jaliyyah Bello

Jaliyyah Bello is an Assistant Professor and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Lead, in the Faculty of Business and Law, Coventry University. She completed her PhD programme and Master degree at Coventry University, and her undergraduate studies at Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. She has interests in finance academia and socio-economic development in Africa. In the former, her interests are: financial contagion, financial market analysis, behavioural finance and sustainable finance. In the latter, they include: quality education and gender equality. She is a promoter of The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into curriculum. Previously, Jaliyyah served in industry where she worked in Research and Development.

Mr Ammar Al-Hawaj

Ammar Al-Hawaj is a marketing and communications professional, with particular expertise in the domain of Transnational Education (TNE) and collaborative provision. Ammar receiced his Master in International Business and Management from the University of Manchester. He joined Ahlia University in 2011, and currently holds the post of Director of International Relations. In his capacity as Director of International Relations, Ammar sits on both the Brunel University PhD (Without Residence) Joint Board, and the George Washington University Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Off-campus Programs Board. Ammar has strategic level experience, and a proven track record at delivering innovative and bespoke organisational solutions.

Mr Gowrishankar Srinivasan

Currently holding the business relations position in Ahlia University and administration coordination of PhD programme. Received Master’s degree in Electronics and Control from the Birla Institute of Technology. While taking care of the commercialisation of the industry – university collaboration, also contributing to the administration of the PhD programme in Ahlia University. Was also the Director of Strategic planning till recently. Prior to Ahlia University was responsible for the business development activities of Microcenter Institute of Technology, Bahrain. Before joining Microcenter Institute of Technology, was a faculty in the Ministry of Education, Bahrain. Worked on deputation in Ministry of Education, Bahrain from Electronics Trade and Technology Development Corporation (ET&T Corp.), New Delhi where I was Chief Manager (Research and Development), Quality Assurance and Projects. Joined ET&T Corp Ltd New Delhi in 1981 as graduate engineer trainee. Executed a variety of jobs in electronics trade and technology development Corp. related to technology development. Finally began my career in Hi Beam electronics who were producing television sets. Joined as an executive in the television production. Passed out from University of Mysore as Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication.

Associate Professor Dr Norhayati Abdullah

Dr. Norhayati Abdullah is currently the Associate Director of UTM International Kuala Lumpur and Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She recently completed her tenure as a Guest Scholar at the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (Shishu-kan), Kyoto University, Japan. Norhayati is recipient of the 2019/2020 ASEAN Science and Technology Fellowship focusing on the strategic recommendations for water sector transformation under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia. In 2018, she received the L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Fellowship. She was Board of Director of the International Water Association (IWA) from 2014-2018, an IWA Fellow and Vice President of the Malaysian Water Association (MWA). At global level, Norhayati has been actively involved with the IWA program and activities since 2000. She received the IWA Young Water Professional (IWAYWP) Award in 2012 in recognition of her outstanding achievements in wastewater research and active involvement in various professional development programs. Norhayati represented UTM and Malaysia at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor for the Fulbright US-ASEAN Visiting Scholar Initiatives in 2016-2017. She was conferred the Top 50 Most Impactful Leaders in Water & Water Management (A Global Listing) award during the World CSR Day in 2018.

Professor Muneer Al Mubarak

Prof. Muneer Al Mubarak is a VP of Administration and Finance and Acting Dean for Graduate Studies & Research. He received his Ph.D. in Business & Economic Studies (Marketing) from University of Leeds, UK. Prof. Al Mubarak’s expertise is in strategic management, marketing management, and relationship marketing. He has over 34 years work experience as he contributed well in teaching and training in areas such as Leadership, Strategic Management, Relationship Marketing, Marketing Management, Marketing Communications, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Customer Relationship Management and Service Excellence. He has participated in many community activities over the years and is a reviewer of many reputable international journals.

Dr. R.W. Alexander Jesudasan

Dr. R.W. Alexander Jesudasan is now the Pro Vice – Chancellor in Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, Chennai and formerly the Principal & Secretary, Madras Christian College from June 2009 – May 2020.

Dr. Jesudasan held notable positions at the National and International levels. He has to his credited 180 publications, in Journals/Conference Proceedings of high repute; one book;, one German Patent; guided 10 Ph.D. Scholars and handled both National and International funded research projects; offered Consultancy services; recipient of several accolades and awards; and Fellow/Member of several academic bodies and visited more than 20 Countries for academic engagement. He has served/serving as the Chairman/Member Coordinator of NAAC peer team assessed/assessing 35 Colleges all over India.

Dr Chitra Rajagopal

Dr(Ms) Chitra Rajagopal, Distinguished Scientist holds the position of Director General (RM & Impl.). Her research interests are : Environment, Explosives, Process, Chemical and Fire Safety; Eco friendly and Clean Energy Technologies, Sustainable Development; Qualitative Risk Assessment, Environment Impact Assessment, Disaster Management, Heat Transfer; Systems Analysis of Defence Systems. Some of her technical contributions are:

• Innovative design, development and evaluation of above ground and underground explosive store houses; packaging and coating technologies.

• Development of Green Technologies : Eco-friendly Treatment, Remediation & Disposal Technologies for Explosives and Hazardous Wastes; Eco-friendly Safe packaging for defense applications, Bio-fuel reformer for generation of Hydrogen.

• Integrated Software Package for Risk and Hazard analysis (RHA) and Disaster Management; Application of Risk Assessment Techniques to Defence Establishments for handling of Explosives and other Hazardous Materials;

• Design and Development of Heat Transfer Equipment and Combustors

• Development of Halon alternatives for Fire Fighting applications – water mist, aerosols, novel organic molecules. She is currently INAE-AICTE Distinguished Visiting Professor.

She is a recipient of several National and DRDO awards such as DRDO Scientist of the Year Award in the year 2010; Lifetime Achievement Award by Society for Reliability and Safety (SRESA) in 2019; Eminent Engineers Award by The Institution of Engineers (India) in 2019, among others. She has to her credit 55 International and 49 National publications with 4285 citations. She has authored three book chapters and published 125 technical reports. She holds twelve patents to her credit (04granted, 08 filed). 02 technologies have been transferred to Industry.. She has been associated with a number of international and national professional organisations including Leadership for Environment &Development Program (LEAD), UK; Carbon Society Delhi, Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers and High Energy Materials Society of India,

Dr Sukhdeep Singh

Dr. Sukhdeep Singh received his B.Sc. degree in medical sciences from Sikh National College Banga, Punjab, India and M.Sc. degree in chemistry and Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab, India. He joined Prof. Schober’s group at Ilmenau University of Technology in 2008 and has been working on developing methods for chemical synthesis of bioactive molecules and polymer bioconjugates for biomaterial and sensor applications. Recently, Dr. Singh established a research group “Bioorganic Chemistry for Bioactive Surfaces” at Ilmenau University of Technology. His research focuses on establishing and screening organic biomolecules on the surface of material to control biological processes like cell adhesion. The research group is interested in gaining expertise in organic synthesis, polymer science and cell culture to establish smart materials for biotech applications.

Dr Peter Kersten

Professor Peter Kersten is professor for Mechatronics and Vice Dean at the Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences. He holds a doctor degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin and a diploma degree in Physics from the Technical University of Dortmund. He has many years of management experience in international industrial companies.
