Global warming has been an alarming issue growing in prominence in recent decades, the impact of which has completely disrupted the climate. The current trend is more than 1.5  degrees celsius per decade, which can lead to the melting of the arctic, Antarctic polar ice caps, sea-levels rising, and extreme climatic conditions. Hence, to control climate change and global warming, it is necessary to turn to sustainable energy sources and technologies to reduce the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Governments in most countries worldwide have encouraged scientists, engineers, and industries to take urgent action and develop the materials which could stop climate change and contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal by 2030.

In this workshop, we will focus on the Sustainable Development Goal 13 to develop materials addressing the issue of global warming by enabling green energy.  This will contribute to the crucial task to stop the rise of global average temperature to secure our future on this planet.

The workshop takes place on Thursday 3 March 2022 9:00am – 11:30am (UK time), book your place here.

Speakers include:

Professor Brian Cantor (Oxford University, UK) Title: Circular Metals and Cantor Alloys
Professor M.S. Ramachandra Rao (Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India) Title: Materials for better Environment
