Civically Engaged Institutions in a Global Landscape
Tuesday 19 October 202110:00 – 13:30
University of Bradford Zoom
TIME: 10:00am – 1:30pm UK time
Host: University of Bradford
Universities play a significant role regionally, nationally and globally, and the balancing act in serving and delivering against these often competing agendas can be a challenge. The covid pandemic has increased the need for institutions to demonstrate the impact of their work through their civic credentials. So, what does it mean to think locally and act globally? How can engagement locally benefit our international agendas? How can WTUN harness the local projects at member institutions to enrich the activities and impact of the Network across our collective geographic regions? Professor Zahir Irani, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University of Bradford will host the day which will feature colleagues from Bradford and showcase sessions from member institutes to demonstrate how we are and, can further, be global change makers.
As well as featuring speakers from the University of Bradford we will hear case studies from the University of Newcastle, Australia, Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand and Coventry University, UK.
